Rich Metals Group (RMG) is a Georgian mining holding founded in 2011-2012 when an international investment group acquired metal ore exploration and mining licenses in the Kvemo Kartli region. From day one the company set out to implement modern labour-safety, occupational-health and environmental-protection standards, inheriting technically obsolete facilities that required deep modernisation and rebuilding from the ground up.
The group unites several operating divisions covering the full production cycle: Caucasus Mining Group handles geological exploration and infrastructure (around USD 40 million invested), RMG Gold extracts precious metals from secondary quartzite ore via heap-leaching, RMG Copper mines and enriches copper from complex heterogeneous deposits, and the underground operation RMG Auramine extracts polymetals at Bekhtakari, processed at the RMG Copper enrichment facility.
RMG is one of the largest employers in southern Georgia, with more than 4,200 people living and working in the region where the company also runs community programs supporting education, culture, sports and winemaking. The holding pioneered industrial tourism in the South Caucasus, opening its production sites to group visits and educational tours, and continues to expand international partnerships with leading research and production centres.
